As I settled into meditation, a wolf came towards me down a soft pine forest path, padding along a cushion of old pine needles. He seemed to be asking me to come with him.
He showed me his cubs. He showed me his capacity to be soft and strong all at the same time; to nurture and love and protect. He reminded me of my role and stirred the memory of a locket I had as a child, in which I wrote in tiny, tiny writing a vow that I would create a bubble of protection for nature and wild life. This locket was lost or discarded many, many years ago; and the tiny writing dismissed by me as the fanciful play of a child. Now the wolf is calling, reminding me of my calling. Such a beautiful creature, so soft, so strong, so powerful, so gentle…. Together the wolf and I send his energy out to the world, our love and strength, from the creative space in my heart. The message from the wolf was simple: “You are the gentle wolf, the protector and keeper of the earth. I am calling to remind you of your calling. Don't you now feel such peace? Are you not at home? Welcome home and thank you for answering my call.” I have sat on this message since 15 March 2018. Unsure of my self, unsure how I could achieve this role. Aware of my tendency to procrastinate. Afraid of the potential power of my inner wolf and the calling. Humbled by even the suggestion that I would be able to achieve anything that to me seems so vast. At the moment, however, I am being nudged to be courageous, so I am publishing it. I am hoping that as I become brave, it will nudge others to also become brave to be or do whatever it is that they are here to be or do. I have also been taught that big things come from little beginnings, and I humbly await the unfolding. Thank you beautiful Snowdrop friends for all your love, support and encouragement. As we connect to the Earth and nature, each in our own beautiful way, whether in big or small ways, we are spreading the remembering of the interconnectedness that joins us all to each other, as well as to our dear Earth and the natural world around us. And in this remembering and connecting, shifts start to occur, no matter how subtle. The most important thing is that we start close to home with what is doable and meaningful for us. This week as you take time out to connect to our dear Earth and to go within, connect to your calling. What is it that you have been ignoring or neglecting that would really bring you true fulfilment and enrich the lives of the souls that you were born to touch? © Snowdrop Thanks to com freak @ pixabay.com for the photo.
