Today when I was out and about, my eye kept being drawn to bright red leaves fluttering on bare autumnal branches. It reminded me of a meditation in which I had an image of dark, cold, bare twigs, with vibrant red berries, like hawthorn berries. This is what they had to say:
“Follow nature and follow your nature. Follow the seasons and follow the seasons of your heart. Autumn is gradually unfolding and we are rich with the energy of conserving. The brightness of what has gone and the energy of what is to become. Scarcity is upon us, but also the beauty of genuine fruitfulness. The treasure is in conserving what is precious and what is of the utmost importance to nourish and sustain as darkness descends and all becomes bare. Notice our bright colour, the red, the power, that takes our kind on to the next season. The vibrant red symbolises passion, energy, life-force taken forward, in spite of the scarcity that is arriving. It is treasure carried forward. Go with the seasons. Now is the time to conserve, and treasure. Discern what is important to be carried forward. This season’s berries become next season’s sustenance, from which a new season blossoms, fresh, alive and new. See the contrast of the vibrant red against the dark, cold twigs. The vibrant energy of hope and continuity, when everything else disappears. The vibrant hope of a fresh new future that will blossom from the unseen. It is as inevitable as the seasons. Behold our true essence— see in us the heart energy of the natural world that radiates out with the unconditional light, as does the unconditional light from your heart. As the natural world around you contracts with the changing energies of the season, open your heart and continue to open. Be open to the power within and continue to radiate that heartfelt energy out to the world, remembering that the spring is on the horizon past the unseen, nourished by the seeds of autumn. We catch your eye, with the contrast of our impassioned red coats against the starkness of the coming winter and bring heart-felt joy. We are here to remind you that there is joy, colour and warmth, even amidst scarcity and darkness. © Snowdrop
